Position Description

As a Risk Analyst, you will work within a diverse team to ensure that the employer has robust risk governance, policies, procedures, and processes in place across the banking and asset management divisions. The scope of your role will include monitoring and reporting of market, credit, and liquidity risk. You will report to the Quantitative Risk Manager and the broader Risk & Compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • Producing periodic risk reports and investigating risk exceptions

  • Using a variety of risk models to provide insight on risk exposures, capital, or liquidity adequacy

  • Development of risk modelling methodologies, which may include documenting and validating risk models

  • Communicating methodologies and results within the Risk team and the Business Risk Committee, Asset & Liability Committee or Fund Board

  • Interacting with various market players as needed to understand risk appetite, refine analyses and communicate findings with the risk team

  • Participation in the ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Planning

  • Taking part in other projects as a Risk representative

Qualifications

  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken

  • Degree in a numerical discipline (e.g. Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics) is preferred

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience within financial services

Skills needed

  • Knowledge of BASEL framework

  • Basic understanding of financial instruments (stocks, bonds, money markets, Equities, FX, rates, and credit derivatives)

  • Good understanding of mathematical / statistical concepts

  • Programming skills (VBA, SQL, MATLAB, R or Python) are a plus
