The employer is a well-known fast-food chain known primarily for coffee, donuts and baked foods. As a baker, you will prepare and monitor baked goods like donuts and muffins, ensuring quality and adherence to food safety standards. You will maintain a clean, professional appearance and minimize waste while delivering excellent customer service. Training will cover operational standards and cleaning protocols. Responsibilities include cleaning the kitchen, taking out the trash, and maintaining bakery equipment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare special orders, frost, and decorate baked goods, including donuts, danishes, cookies, muffins, pastries, brownies, rolls, and croissants.
Prepare bread, rolls, bagels, and various hot and cold products, including soups, fresh cracked eggs, slicing, portions, and preparing various meats such as carved turkey, ham, sausage, and bacon. Thaw and prepare fruits, berries, vegetables, and yogurts.
Ensure proper food preparation using approved recipes, adhering to prescribed production standards, and using the appropriate equipment.
Follow all operational standards and guidelines for product preparation and equipment operation, in accordance with provided training and operational materials.
Monitor the inventory of refrigerator and freezer products and assist management in ordering/purchasing.
Oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods. Prepare products as needed, minimizing food waste by producing smaller quantities more frequently throughout the day; record items and prepared waste on the production sheet.
Establish a production schedule to determine the type and quantity of goods to be produced. Respond to showcase and product needs from the restaurant front.
Regularly take the temperature of products, refrigerators, and freezers as required and record information in the time and temperature log.
Comply with all restaurant policies, procedures, and standards.
Maintain a clean environment that is ready for peak periods and urgent requests through regular cleaning, organizing, and storing in the kitchen.
Ensure product quality meets established standards. Follow proper handwashing techniques and all sanitation guidelines; perform all sanitation tasks as directed by the restaurant manager or owner.
Operate equipment provided by Tim Hortons, including baking ovens, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers, observing all safety rules during preparation and maintenance.
Thoroughly clean the equipment and workspace before leaving the area for other assignments and keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
Train new bakery and kitchen staff.
Follow sanitation and safety principles while handling food and equipment, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of CLB/NCLC 5 in French and CLB 5 in English.
Completion of secondary school is required.
1 to 2 years of similar baking experience is preferred.
Demonstrated passion and energy for customer service, creating friendly, fast, and exceptional experiences for customers.

Strong work ethic and commitment to your team, ensuring a clean and organized environment that exceeds customer expectations.
Presentation level compatible with delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 kg / 45 lbs, using heavy and large equipment, and receiving large deliveries up to twice a week.
Capable of transitioning between cold (e.g., freezer) and hot (e.g., oven) work environments.
Able to distinguish colors.
