Financials
TBB is fortunate to have generous supporters and contributors globally. Our work is made possible by foundations, corporate partners, governments, UN agencies, and individuals who contribute to ensure we are able to work towards our vision of a world where displaced people can safely migrate for work, using their skills to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
TBB Legal Entities
TBB is a growing global organization with a shared vision comprising separate legal entities in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States (with a foreign operating branch in Jordan). In 2023 TBB also opened a legal entity in Belgium.
How we spend
TBB’s 2023 consolidated financials are available in our 2023 Annual Report.
In 2023, TBB spent $4.67m on programming, administration, and fundraising costs globally.
Our core programs
In 2023, our expenditure was allocated to five core programs (USD):
Global Program
Supporting our candidate-facing work (helping refugees to compete for jobs), technology (running and improving the Talent Catalog), global advocacy (to open refugee labour mobility pathways), candidate support, partnerships (onboarding and training of partner organizations), communications, finance, HR, and operations. Global programming is funded by our entities in Australia, US, Canada, and the UK (see below).
UK & Europe
Supporting our work implementing the Displaced Talent Mobility Pilot and the Healthcare Pilot in the UK; as well as the Displaced Talent for Europe (DT4E) program and other initiatives expanding refugee labour pathways to countries across Europe.
Australia & New Zealand
Supporting our work running the Skilled Refugee Pilot in Australia, mobilizing employers and partners to help refugees relocate to Australia. We advocate for changes to immigration and recruitment systems in Australia and NZ to make them more accessible to displaced people. The program is funded by TBB Ltd (our entity in Australia).
United States
Supporting our work implementing the Welcome Corps at Work and assisting refugees to access other skilled visa pathways to the US, as well as advocating for changes to US immigration systems to make them more accessible to refugees.
Canada
Supporting our work as a trusted partner of the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP), mobilizing employers and partners to help refugees relocate to Canada, and advocating for ongoing improvements to the program.
Growth and income
In 2022, TBB received a transformative gift of US$3m from Yield Giving (MacKenzie Scott) which has supported our growth in recent years. In 2023, we raised another US$2.9m across TBB’s entities from a range of generous donors.
In 2024, TBB is growing again to support the implementation of our 5 year strategy. Our budget this year is US$5.5 million to scale up our existing programs, as well as expand into new countries.
