Program Details

Several TBB employers in Canada are requesting nurses and nurse aides/assistants in Canadian hospitals. Eligible candidates must have upper intermediate communication skills in English or French (B2 level or an equivalent to 5.5 in IELTS)

Certifications

  1. Nursing Assistant responsibilities include providing basic services to patients throughout the day: 

  • Help patients use the bathroom

  • Clean and bathe patients or residents

  • Maintain patients’ hygiene and change bedding

  • Turn, reposition, and move patients between wheelchairs, seats, and beds

  • Serve meals and help patients eat their food

  • Measure vital signs like blood pressure and temperature

    2. Some daily tasks and responsibilities a Registered Nurse (RN) should be able to perform include:

  • Assess patients when they arrive at the healthcare facility

  • Take blood samples and administer medications as prescribed by a doctor

  • Monitor progress and patient outcomes

  • Report any changes in the patient’s health status to the available doctor

  • Prepare patients to be discharged

  • Assist Surgeons in surgery and operating medical equipment

Qualifications:

  • Upper intermediate communication skills in English or French (B2 level or an equivalent to 5.5 in IELTS)

  • Worked in the role of caregiver, either in a facility or in a public setting, has transferable skills and related health care training; OR

  • Trained in a program comparable or somewhat comparable to a Licensed Practical Nurse that would be willing to start as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) while they work towards gaining their license to practice;

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing (for RN jobs)
