A Canadian company seeks roofing professionals with intermediate English proficiency (IELTS 5.5 or above) who specialize in installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Requirements:

  • English Level: Intermediate or above (5.5 IELTS level or above)

  • Proven experience as a Roofer

  • Experience in repairing, maintaining, and installing roofing on various structures

  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints for roof construction

  • Capable of performing heavy lifting and working at heights

  • Proficient in using hand tools, roofing equipment, and power tools

  • Expertise in removing existing roofing and installing new flat roofing systems with liquids, membranes, and panels

  • Knowledgeable in inspecting roofs for damage and determining the best repair procedures

  • Ability to perform repairs on existing roofs including replacing damaged materials

  • Skilled in applying waterproofing sealants and coatings to protect roofs from water damage

  • Adherence to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions

Responsibilities:

  • Remove existing roofing

  • Install new flat roofing systems using materials including liquids, membranes and panels;

  • Inspect roofs for damage and determine the best repair procedures;

  • Perform repairs on existing roofs including replacing damaged materials;

  • Apply waterproofing sealants and coatings to protect roofs from water damage;

  • Work with hand tools and power tools to complete roofing projects;

  • Follow and use safe work practices and procedures;

  • Read blueprints and follow building codes to ensure proper roof installation.

  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas

  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites

  • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt

  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction activities
